AbstractEste trabalho comparou índices de gradiente aplicados sobre o perfil longitudinal dos rios Uraricoera-Branco, norte da Amazônia. Foi constatado que os índices k, SL e SL/ktotal são correlacionáveis entre si e, para trechos extensos, possuem forte correlação com a declividade. O índice DS é independe dos demais índices e não tem correlação com a declividade. Portanto, este índice é apontado como de maior potencial de aplicação na detecção de anomalias em rios extensos. ABSTRACT: This study analyzed gradient indices applied on the longitudinal profile of the Uraricoera-Branco Rivers, Northern Amazonia. It was noted that the k, SL and S/ktotal indices are correlated among themselves and for long stretches, are strongly correlated with the slope. The DS index is independent than other indices and it do not has correlation with the slope. Therefore, this index is indicated as the largest potential application in the anomalies detection in large rivers.
